Dressed to Learn Open House
Come learn more about Dressed to Learn, a Lewisville ISD Council of PTA’s volunteer-led and 100%-donation-driven program at our annual Open House, October 23 from 10 a.m. to noon. Dressed to Learn is housed in portables 3+4 on the Southridge Elementary School campus.
Dressed to Learn provides comfy school clothes for LISD students in need—for any reason, there is no paperwork to qualify. We served over 1500 students with shoes, hygiene items, new underlayers, new/like-new tops and bottoms in 2024-25. Additionally our Coat Drive support provided over 1500 students with warm winter coats or hoodies (if they preferred).
We are run by a handful of volunteers—Linda Ellington is our Dressed to Learn chair in 2025-26—and we could not do what we do without community volunteers to sort, label and organize our items, as well as local PTAs, volunteer groups, individuals and companies who donate items to stock our closet. Come see what we’re all about on October 23rd!
Social workers and CISNTX social workers are invited to “shop” for students at the event as well! Email Dr************@*****ta.org for more information.
